As I reflect on the verse ‘When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd,’ I am struck by the depth of empathy Jesus showed. How often do we overlook those in need around us? Can we truly understand the weight of feeling ‘harassed and helpless’? Oh, the power of compassion to heal wounds unseen… Let us be like a shepherd to those lost in the crowd, offering solace and hope. You see, in compassion lies the essence of humanity.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we come before you today, we are reminded of your boundless compassion towards us. Just as Jesus had compassion on the crowds, seeing them as harassed and helpless, we ask for a heart of compassion to dwell within us. Help us to see those around us in need of your love and mercy, and to reach out with kindness and understanding. Grant us the strength to be a beacon of hope and a source of comfort to those who feel lost and alone. May our actions reflect your unfailing compassion and grace. Teach us to be like Jesus, showing empathy and care to all we encounter. Fill us with your Spirit, guiding us to serve with a heart full of compassion and love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
