Today’s Verse for Woman – Luke 10:33-34, Sunday, October 19th, 2025
Topic of The Day: Compassion
for Sunday, October 19th, 2025

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
Luke 10:33-34
Thoughts on Today’s Verse
Oh, the Samaritan’s compassionate act speaks volumes to me as a woman… Imagine being in that vulnerable state and receiving such selfless care. How often do we pass by those in need without truly seeing them? Do we stop, like the Samaritan, to tend to wounds and offer comfort? It’s a reminder that true compassion requires action, not just words. Let’s challenge ourselves to embody such kindness in our daily encounters. How can we be like the Samaritan, going above and beyond to care for others with genuine love and empathy?
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, today we come to you with hearts filled with gratitude for the example of compassion shown by the Samaritan in the parable. Teach us, like him, to see the needs of others and respond with love and kindness. May we be moved with empathy to reach out and care for those who are hurting and in need. Help us to bandage the wounds of the brokenhearted, to pour out the oil of comfort, and the wine of encouragement. Grant us the strength and courage to put aside our own comfort and convenience to help those around us. May we be willing to go the extra mile, like the Samaritan, to bring healing and restoration to those in distress. Fill our hearts with compassion, O Lord, and guide us to be vessels of your love in this world. Amen.
