Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Oh, dear sister, have you ever felt like you haven’t quite reached where you want to be? I know I have… But in those moments, let’s remember to leave the past behind and look ahead. What lies in front of us is the real prize, the goal that God has set for us. As we strive towards it, let’s not lose sight of the journey and the growth it brings. So, my friend, let’s press on with determination, knowing that our ultimate destination is heavenward in Christ Jesus.

My Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, as we reflect on the words of Paul, we are reminded of the journey of growth that lies before us. Just as he acknowledged his imperfections and focused on the future, help us, as women, to let go of our past mistakes and shortcomings. May we fix our eyes on the path ahead, filled with hope and purpose. Grant us the strength to press on towards the goal of becoming more like Christ, day by day. Guide us in our growth, Lord, nurturing our spirits and transforming our hearts. May we embrace the challenges that come with growth, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. Help us to trust in Your plan for our lives and to seek Your wisdom in all that we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
