Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Oh, my dear friend, have you ever felt the weight of past mistakes clinging to your spirit? Have you found yourself unable to break free from the chains of yesterday? Well, here’s a thought for you… In this beautiful verse, the Apostle Paul reminds us of the power of growth and renewal. Like a runner in a race, we must let go of what hinders us and fix our eyes on the prize ahead. Let’s press on, leaving behind the burdens of yesterday, and strive towards the glorious future God has in store for us. The journey may be tough, but the destination is worth it. Keep pressing on, my friend, for the upward call awaits us in Christ Jesus.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we meditate on this powerful verse, we come before You seeking growth in every aspect of our lives. Just as the Apostle Paul strived for the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus, may we too press on towards the goals You have set before us. Help us, Lord, to let go of the past and focus on the future with faith and determination. Grant us the strength to overcome obstacles and the wisdom to learn from our experiences. May Your guiding hand be upon us, leading us to new heights of spiritual and personal growth. Equip us with the courage to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the challenges that come our way. We surrender our fears and doubts to You, trusting that You will nurture and cultivate the seeds of growth within us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
