Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Oh, dear sister, do you ever feel like you haven’t quite grasped the fullness of what lies ahead? I know I do. But here’s the beauty of growth… We are encouraged to leave the past behind and fix our gaze on the future. It’s a journey of pressing on, not looking back, towards the prize that awaits us. Can you imagine the joy of reaching that goal set before us by God? Let’s embrace this journey of growth together, with faith and determination, knowing that our ultimate reward is in Christ Jesus.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we meditate on the words of the apostle Paul, we are reminded of the journey of growth that lies ahead of us. Help us, as women, to emulate his perseverance and determination in pressing forward towards the goals You have set before us. Just as Paul urged us to forget the past and reach for the future, may we let go of our past mistakes and setbacks, focusing instead on the growth and transformation You have in store for us. Grant us the strength to keep moving forward, even when the path seems challenging. May we fix our eyes on the ultimate prize of heavenward calling in Christ Jesus. Guide us, mold us, and lead us on this journey of growth, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. Amen.
