Topic of The Day: Comfort
for Saturday, January 17th, 2026

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.
Isaiah 66:13
Thoughts on Today’s Verse
As I reflect on the verse, ‘As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem,’ I can’t help but think about the profound depth of comfort a mother provides. Oh, how comforting it is to know that we, too, can receive such warmth and reassurance. Have you ever felt that gentle embrace, that soothing voice that calms your fears? You see, comfort isn’t just a fleeting feeling; it’s a promise, a safe space where we can be vulnerable. How often do we seek that embrace in our own lives? Let’s remember that we are not alone in our struggles; comfort is always within reach.
My Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In moments of distress and sorrow, we come before you, seeking your comforting presence. Just as a mother embraces her child, we long for the warmth of your love to enfold us. Lord, we thank you for the promise that you will provide comfort in our times of need. May we feel your gentle hand guiding us through our struggles and our pains.
For every woman facing challenges, be it loss, loneliness, or uncertainty, we ask that you wrap her in your arms of peace. Help her to remember that she is never alone and that your comfort is always near.
Grant her strength to persevere and the assurance that you are working all things for her good. May she find solace in your Word and in the fellowship of other believers. Let her heart be filled with hope and joy as she rests in your care.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
